For many women, getting a job is a lifeline. It is a chance to escape poverty, gain financial stability and restore confidence. In the shadow of the cost of living crisis, there is an intensified need for the Smart Works service.

Smart Works is a UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for their job interview. They give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and transform their lives. In the last year, 69% got a job within a month of their appointment.

Between 23rd February and 8th March 2024, our team will be cycling 500 miles to raise vital funds for Smart Works. Our team will be pedaling for a purpose and would appreciate every pound you are able to give to support this brilliant charity. Barclays will also match your donation pound for pound.

Mighty River Clyde Riders Smiling Through the Miles

Wednesday 6th Mar
With 420 miles done and 80 more to go, I think it's fair to say our mighty River Clyde Riders are getting saddle weary.  Sore backs, padded shorts and the perils of being on a spin bike for too long have dominated our conversations over the past 10 days.  The event has definitely been fun and perhaps a little more challenging that we thought.  That said we continue to smile through the miles in the knowledge that we are making a difference to women by raising money for Smart works.  Please continue with your kind donations, they really do make a huge difference and of course will be matched £4£ by Barclays.   Just 3 more days to go!
