Cycle for Smart Works 2024

For many women, getting a job is a lifeline. It is a chance to escape poverty, gain financial stability and restore confidence. In the shadow of the cost of living crisis, there is an intensified need for the Smart Works service.

Smart Works is a UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for their job interview. They give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and transform their lives. In the last year, 69% got a job within a month of their appointment.

Between 23rd February and 8th March 2024, I will be cycling to raise vital funds for Smart Works. I will be pedalling for a purpose and would appreciate every pound you are able to give to support this brilliant charity.

Ooft longest cycle day yet today and my legs are all shook up 🎶

A few observations

- I just can’t do the glam cyclist - it’s too cold 🥶

- my hair just does not want to fit under a cycle helmet 🤣

- I met a couple of lovely cycling ladies who took these photos, thought some more proof may be useful for donations 💰

- boy I feel great , feels like spring in the aire and in my step. Though I can procrastinate longer before going out than the cycle lasts - and get twice as much done 🙈

I’ve been lucky or just chosen dry days to cycle as I like to do this challenge outside- rather cold and one day b windy - when you’re out and the kite surfers are also out - you know it will be a tough one , but very rewarding and refreshing- helps you feel alive !
