For many women, getting a job is a lifeline. It is a chance to escape poverty, gain financial stability and restore confidence. In the shadow of the cost of living crisis, there is an intensified need for the Smart Works service.

Smart Works is a UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for their job interview. They give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and transform their lives. In the last year, 72% got a job within a month of their appointment.

Between 23rd February and 8th March 2024, I will be cycling to raise vital funds for Smart Works. I will be pedalling for a purpose and would appreciate every pound you are able to give to support this brilliant charity.

Glasgow to Falkirk wheel!

Saturday 24th Feb
Did a total of 26 miles today all in all, with my big ride to Falkirk! Feeling chuffed

Cycle Starts TOMORROW!

Thursday 22nd Feb
Flat tyre (hopefully...) fixed - ready to go!

I've got my first big cycle planned for this Saturday to get things started. Stay tuned to see where I end up and how many miles I manage. Wish me luck!

Hi everyone! 

Thank you for your interest and support for my Cycle for Smart Works challenge. 

It's not long until I need to get on the bike and raise as much money as I can... so I'd better fix my flat tyre! Haven't been on the bike in a while (what with flat tyre and horrid weather... and laziness!), but will be getting back into the swing of it ASAP to warm up to the challenge of 100 miles at the end of Feb. Watch this space!
